Whether you're moving into a new rental home with us or you're preparing to say goodbye, it's important to address all of the moving responsibilities on your shoulders. We've created these checklists to serve as answers to some of the most common questions we hear from tenants. Move-in Checklist

First Month's Rent & Security Deposit

You'll need to pay your first month's rent, security deposit, and any other fees when you come to the lease signing. Confirm the payment amount and method with us in advance.

Move-in Date & Inspection

All information about the move-in date will be provided when you sign the lease. 

Utilities

All utility accounts for your rental home need to be placed in your name upon moving into the unit. Do this quickly to avoid losing access.

 

Move-out Checklist

Notice of Intent to Vacate

We hope you enjoyed a great stay with us. If you plan to move, check your lease for the scheduled move-out date. You'll need to provide us with written notice of your intent to vacate so we can begin preparing for the next tenants.

30 days notice is required at all times, even at the end of a lease.

Property Condition

Handle the following before returning your keys:

  • Rental Cleaning: Your home should be properly cleaned, with all of your belongings removed, before you vacate. If anything is left behind, you may be charged for garbage disposal.
  • Landscaping & Outdoor Areas: If there is any outdoor rental space where you regularly take care of maintenance, please do this once more before you vacate.
  • Repairs: If any damage took place during your stay, take the steps necessary to fix the problem. Examples may include nail and screw holes in the walls, broken glass, and burnt light bulbs.

Security Deposit

The security deposit you pay at the outset of your lease protects against damage that may occur during your stay. After you move out, any damage that has not been repaired will be addressed by our maintenance team. All expenses associated with repairing the unit will be deducted from your deposit. 

The remainder will be returned to you as quickly as possible, along with an itemized statement.
